Teaching Portfolio

Titus Barik  ·  Staff Research Scientist  ·  Apple

Statement of Purpose

I am currently a Staff Research Scientist at Apple (2021-present), and prior to that I was a Research Scientist at Microsoft (2017-2021).

This teaching portfolio compiles my graduate teaching assistant activities within the Computer Science department at North Carolina State University, as well as my experience as an adjunct instructor at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, North Carolina. It documents my participation in the Certificate of Accomplishment in Teaching (CoAT) and Mentored TA programs, and reflects the breadth and diversity of my teaching experiences at both the university and community college levels.

You can navigate the different sections of the portfolio using the links on the sidebar, beginning with my teaching philosophy. I then describe course design, teaching contexts, teaching artifacts, and professional development. I also document my research mentorship of PhD students in industry internships. I conclude with a critical reflection of how my teaching experiences and participation in the CoAT program have improved my overall pedagogy.
